* staticcheck: Fix additional linter issues after upgrading to Go 1.24.1 and golangci-lint v1.64.6

Also addresses nits

* Improve testing, assertify usage and use common.ErrParsingWSField

* TestCreateNewStrategy: Replace must > should wording
